Legal & Privacy

Important: Cottage in Wales is an independent accommodation discovery website. This page provides general website information and is not legal advice. The exact data and cookies used can depend on the hosting, analytics, advertising and affiliate services active on the site.

1. About Cottage in Wales

Cottage in Wales helps visitors discover holiday cottages and other accommodation across Wales. Property information may be supplied by third-party accommodation providers or affiliate feeds. We aim to present useful information, but descriptions, images, prices, facilities and location details may be supplied by those third parties and may not always be complete or up to date.

2. Bookings, prices and availability

Bookings are not made with Cottage in Wales. When you follow a property or booking link, you visit the relevant provider's website. The provider is responsible for its booking process, availability, final prices, taxes and fees, payment, cancellation policy, accommodation and customer service. Check all details on the provider's website before making a booking.

3. Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this website are affiliate links, including links managed through affiliate networks such as Awin. If you click an affiliate link and then make a qualifying booking or purchase, we may receive a commission. This does not normally add to the price you pay.

Affiliate links may contain tracking information so the network or provider can attribute a referral. Following an external link means that the destination website's own terms and privacy policy may apply. We do not control third-party websites.

4. Information and privacy

When you use the website, technical information may be processed to deliver pages, protect the service, diagnose errors and understand general site usage. Depending on the services enabled, this may include information such as IP address, browser or device details, requested pages, referral information and timestamps in server logs.

Searches on the site may be processed to return matching accommodation. Do not submit sensitive personal information into search fields. If you contact us, information you provide may be used to respond to your enquiry.

We do not take bookings or payments on this website. Any personal information you provide to an accommodation provider is handled under that provider's own privacy policy.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored by a website in your browser. The site itself, its hosting infrastructure, or third-party services linked from the site may use cookies or similar technologies for essential operation, security, audience measurement or affiliate referral tracking, depending on the services in use.

You can review and manage cookies through your browser settings, including deleting existing cookies or blocking future ones. Blocking cookies may affect some website features or the way third-party referrals are attributed. Third-party websites may set their own cookies when you leave Cottage in Wales.

Where consent is legally required for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, the site operator should ensure an appropriate consent mechanism is in place before those technologies are used. This page alone is not a cookie consent tool.

6. Third-party providers and external links

Property cards, images, descriptions and booking links may direct you to external websites. Those sites operate independently and may have different privacy, cookie, security and booking policies. Review their terms before sharing personal information or making a booking.

7. Accuracy and liability

We make reasonable efforts to keep the information displayed useful, but we cannot guarantee that third-party property details, prices or availability are accurate, complete or current. Information is provided for discovery purposes. To the extent permitted by law, Cottage in Wales is not responsible for the accommodation or for transactions entered into with third-party providers.

8. Changes to this page

This page may be updated as the website and the services it uses change. Please check back for the latest version.
